When I have time I am still quite the hobbyist or geek as some say. I attached some low voltage zip cord, and made all the connections water tight with some surplus coax seal that I found at my favorite local electronics store and then attached that to a cool solar generator that I made using Marine batteries, a watertight Rubbermaid container on wheels, and Solar Panels (again bought at MTC) and now my fish are happy. Rhett carried the contraption out to the middle of the mucky pond. With a little PVC to keep the inlet off the bottom and a spray head from home depot just above the water line the thing looked awesome. Being a clever ham myself, I went to the local Walmart and found an aerator that goes in a live well in a boat. I started checking on aeration systems and could not find anything that was economical. Again with the heat and drought I got pretty worried about them. I stocked it with fish back in the spring. Another thing that I was busy working on was my pond at home. We planted 18 fruit trees this spring and with the drought and heat, I have been busy taking care of them. The local Paris Texas Dstar machine is now up and I have also been busy with a UHF analog repeater that had some problems. I have been trying to get my Radio Room back in order and antennas in the air. That is a sore subject though so we wont go there.Īs far as me personally, you know, I have been swamped here at the store but I have been trying to get out of here earlier and get home. We found out that once you hit power seller and can maintain a five star top rated seller you get a break on the high fees they charge. We try really hard to maintain a perfect record. It is crazy to think but that is a lot of ebay sales. Speaking of ebay our feedback just went over 4500 earlier this month. We have sold tons of it in our online store on ebay. We are looking for clean, working late model used ham radio gear. He has done such an awesome job at it that we are very low. Jerry has been busy keeping our used gear moving. Make sure you go there now and like our page if you haven't already. On Monday September 23 we will be giving away a new Alinco DJ-175 2 meter talkie to another one of our lucky facebook followers. We gave away a new Icom V-80 earlier this month to one of our lucky facebook fans for just liking our page. The Dual Band MTC UV-E5 is still selling strong as well with many buying them by the six pack. The new Narrow band compliant 1P model is now back in stock. Wouxun Handhelds and some accessories got to be in short supply but be we are loaded up again. We hope to see you this weekend at the sidewalk sale here at MTC. We have got to see many of you at the Mena Arkansas and Ada Oklahoma Hamfests. We have been pushing for every deal that we can make to finish up the third quarter as the number one volume leader in Texas for Kenwood and Icom Sales. September is off to a great start though. It was a little off from previous months but we are attributing that to back to school and such.
